About 85 km northwest of the capital city, Zagreb, overlooking the rolling green hills of Hrvatsko Zagorje, the Bodren Winery welcomes you to taste its superior quality ice wines, which have been awarded six Gold, eight Silver and six Bronze medals during the last five years at the Decanter World Wine Awards held in London, including a Gold Medal for Bodren Icewine 2011 at the International Wine Challenge 2014.
The grape varieties this skillful winemaker turns into a liquid delight include Chardonnay, Riesling and Pinot Gris. The winery owner, Boris Drenški, has taken advantage of the vibrant acidity of grapes cultivated in this area and balanced it against sweetness of late-harvested overripe grapes in his luxurious dessert wines. Bodren’s highly awarded Trockenbeerenauslese and Icewine are the honey-flavoured result of traditional harvesting and ecological production methods. In addition to the above mentioned, the wines you will be able to taste during your visit to this winery feature the international varieties such as Pinot Blanc, Traminer, Müller-Thurgau, Yellow Muscat and Sauvignon Blanc.
