This family winery run by siblings, Mare and Niko Bura, is an excellent example of traditional winemaking in Croatia. Their impressive vineyards, located on very steep southern slopes of the Pelješac peninsula in the Postup and Dingač areas, can be hand-cultivated only, as the terrain is very rough and not accessible to machinery. Nevertheless, the result of their hard work is very rewarding: consistently well-balanced wines with strong regional characteristics, ready to appeal to the pickiest of palates and complement a wide range of foods.
For several years running the family’s famous Bura Dingač wine has been awarded as the best Plavac Mali in Croatia. This powerful, full-bodied, yet complex and perfectly balanced red wine with fine-grained tannins is intended for true wine lovers and connoisseurs. The other signature wine of the Bura Mrgudić Winery, Postup Mare, is a more elegant, modern red wine, adapted to international tastes. ‘Polished flavour’ of Plavac Mali and delicate tannins give this wine soft and creamy texture.
On the tour of the family’s winery in Potomje you will taste 7 different wines (1 white wine: Plavac Mali Sivi, 5 reds: Galeria, Marica, Postup, Dingač and Zinfandel and 1 dessert wine: the Dalmatian Rose Prosecco).
