The Matuško winery, with its signature donkey-labelled wines, has developed into one of the best known and largest Croatian wine-tasting destinations over the last couple of years. Their smooth and well-balanced Plavac Mali is not only great, but also quite affordable.
In their impressive wine cellar in Potomje, the friendly winery staff will introduce you to their entire lineup of reds, whites, roses, sparkling and dessert wines, made from indigenous varieties, such as Plavac Mali (from the Dingač and Postup viticultural areas), Pošip and Rukatac. Wines will be accompanied by a light snack (bread, cheese and smoked ham).
The Matuško cold pressed extra virgin olive oil is not to be missed during the tour of this winery.
If you get hungry during the visit, the family-owned restaurant will be happy to offer you some local dishes served on a lovely terrace perched on the hill above the sea.
